My consultation with Mr Panchal went very well, he explained everything I needed to know and more. So this consultation with a specialist was a really good experience. I don't think any improvement is needed.

Mr. Panchal treated me in a friendly, professional manner from my consultation through to post op. At my consultation he was honest about any negative consequences of the cholecystectomy, but put me at ease with the low figures of how likely this was. He explained the procedure in detail, drawing diagrams to assist. He gave time for my husband and I to ask questions and at no time did we feel rushed , and I am sure he must have been under some time constraints. Mr. Panchal was reassuring when he visited me before the op and I felt confident going to theatre. Afterwards he was equally pleasant and genuinely pleased things had gone well, I saw him at least three times in my short two day stay. I am now on my ninth day, feeling good, and hoping my on going treatment will be as successful. My friend ,who worked in the medical field, had the same op some years ago, done by Mr Panchal, and she recommended and spoke very highly of him, so I was more than delighted when I got the name of my surgeon. This all may seem too good to be true, but it is how it was, no negatives and praise where praise is due. Thank you so much Mr. Panchal, I will recommend you for sure.

A no rushed Consultation, Mr Panchal came across as very kind and understanding. I have no complaints but being the last patient the waiting time became quite long but in a busy clinic that is understandable.

I have been waiting for my gallbladder to be removed by you for 5 months now after the original date was given for the 5th November. You refused to operate after I arrived at the hospital having arranged animal care, time off work and cover care for my very sick grandad, as the pre op team had failed to pass information to you. 5 months on and I have had approximately 7/8 cancellations of this operation - a couple due to covid/unable to make the date but the rest was a result of the incompetency of your team and Furness General waiting list office - for example, booking me in at westmorland general when they clearly knew I needed to be at Barrow. Have now lost my job due to repeated requests of sick leave only to have operation cancelled 24 hours before it was due and now I am told that despite bring booked in, there are other operations that precedence over mine and it there has to be postponed yet again. Not sure what can be more urgent than someone being in constant pain, constantly on the phone to 111 asking whether I should attend A and E because of my gallstones and spending the majority of my life by the toilet due to sickness and diarrhea etc. But don't worry I'll keep taking the Buscopan you gave me to tide me over for the foreseeable future

I recently had a telephone consultation with Mr Panchal regarding the Polyps found in my gallbladder and the treatment that would be required to remove them. He was very helpful, explained the procedure clearly including everything I needed to know about my operation, any problems which may arise and discussed the current Covid issues. I felt he listened to my concerns and made me feel at ease. I had also been waiting for a Gastroenterology appointment for several months and on the day of my consultation he contacted the hospital and I was admitted for an Endoscopy within a week. Even though I'm a little worried about the operation I feel totally confident with him as my Consultant. Thank you Mr Panchal.
